रकबा
Definition
Area, recorded in hectares and ares in metricated records.
Rakba (रकबा) is the area of a khasra as the revenue record states it — the figure in the area column of the jamabandi. In Rajasthan the record is metric: one hectare is 100 ares, or 10,000 square metres, while the market still quotes bighas, so the same land carries two numbers.
Read the rakba of each khasra and add them up for the holding. Where the khata is joint, a co-owner’s area is their share of that total, not the whole of it. Rakba is recorded area, not measured area: a recorded path crossing the land reduces what you can use without reducing the rakba, so measure the parcel and compare it with the bhu-naksha before you pay.
