Reading a girdawari run

One entry tells you little. Six seasons read together tell you who has been on the land, what it supports, and when that changed.

Specimen v1.0 Fictional data throughout Not a government form
This is a teaching specimen, not a government form and not a real record. Every name, khasra number, area, figure and village on this page is invented for teaching. It is not a reproduction of any official form, it is not issued by or connected with any government department, and it must never be presented, copied or relied on as a real document. Layouts of real records vary between districts, between older handwritten registers and newer portal extracts, and between States. Use this to learn what the fields mean; then read an actual record. AgriZameen is an independent private platform and is not a government body.

This specimen shows six consecutive seasons on one khasra. Invented data, real structure.

Read it as a sequence rather than a snapshot. The story it tells is the reason this document matters far more to a buyer than its agricultural appearance suggests.

What to do with a real one

  1. Ask for several seasons, not the current one. One entry is a snapshot; a run is evidence.
  2. Compare the cultivator name against the jamabandi holder for every season.
  3. Note every fallow season and establish the reason. A failed well and a family dispute are different purchases.
  4. Note when the irrigation source changed. That date is when the water position deteriorated.
  5. Ask the neighbouring cultivators the same questions. The record tells you what to ask them.

The lesson behind this specimen

L2-03 — Girdawari — what is actually growing teaches this document in full. The specimen is a place to practise; the lesson is the substance.
