आरक्षण
Land shown in the plan for a planned public purpose, restricting interim use.
A master plan or zonal plan can reserve land for a road, a park, a school, a hospital or another public purpose long before anyone builds it. While the reservation stands, permission for a different use — conversion, a colony layout, a building — is normally refused, and the land may later be acquired for that purpose. The jamabandi records ownership and cultivation, not planning, so a field can look ordinary in the record and on the ground and still sit under a reservation or a proposed road alignment.
