Rajas is a village in Nawa tehsil of Didwana-Kuchaman district. The district was carved out of Nagaur in 2023 and was kept when Rajasthan cut back its new districts in December 2024; RIICO’s own lists put its Rajas industrial area under Didwana-Kuchaman. When you pull a jamabandi or a Bhu-Naksha map for land here, choose Didwana-Kuchaman and Nawa — older papers and brochures may still say Nagaur.

The foundation stone was laid on 22 May 2025, and SJVN gave 31 December 2025 as the scheduled commissioning date. The construction contract was reported in January 2025. A dedicated broad-gauge track for testing new trains and coaches, for Indian Railways’ research body RDSO, in the Jodhpur division, with four stations: Gudha, Jabdinagar, Nawa and Mithri. Reported at 59 km (Indian Infrastructure, August 2026) or 64 km (Rajasthan Patrika, August 2026), with a high-speed stretch and testing loops; the high-speed stretch was due in September 2026 and the Mithri curve loop in December 2026. It is a testing facility, not a new passenger line. A RIICO industrial area at Rajas village (Nawa tehsil, Didwana-Kuchaman district). RIICO lists it (S.No. 81, Didwana Kuchaman) among the industrial areas of its Direct Allotment Policy 2025, which ran to 31 December 2025, and again in its March 2026 list of areas on 33-year leases. In January 2024 the Chief Minister named Rajas among new small industrial areas expected to start working soon. “Shri Ram Janki” is a name RIICO gives to several new areas across the state, not only this one. 345 km, one of nine greenfield expressways announced in the Rajasthan budget of July 2024, with detailed project reports to be prepared. Reported (Hindi press, October 2024) to run from Jaipur through Kalwar, Jobner, Bhatipura, Nawa, Kuchaman, Didwana and Nagaur to NH-11 at Phalodi. In November 2025 the Chief Minister was reported to have asked NHAI to take up land acquisition for the proposed greenfield expressways; only Jaipur–Pachpadra and Bikaner–Kotputli were reported as handed to NHAI. No Section 3A notification and no village-level alignment was found — no published source names a village on the route, Rajas included.
